Riverwalk (Kynidaros-Eggares)

This tour offers you original and natural beauty of Naxos. The tour starts from Naxos town you Will be transferred by bus or taxi to the village Kynidaros. You will visit there an old olive press.After that you will pass a small waterfall, byzantine church of Agios Artmios, the ruined monastery of St. Demetrios and the remains of several watermills along the path. The route is 11 km long and the walk takes 6 hours till the village of Eggares. In the village you will enjoy Local delicacies, local wine and Greek coffee. The tour ends by bus or taxi transfer back to town.

Walking in Paradise (Melanes-Potamia)

Starting at Agii Apostoli in Melanes. Visiting the church of Agios Georgios. Following the trail, you will visit the water springs and the 6th century BC statues of Kouroi in the area of quarries. From Flerio, the trail initially goes uphill on a wide footpath towards Potamia. A marble paved pathway leads to Ano (“Upper”) Potamia. Potamias three settlements (upper, middle and lower), with their impressively preserved traditional architectural profile, adorn the valley which is dotted with watermills, historic chapels, tower houses, threshing floors and olive presses. After passing the three settlements, we reach the church of Agios Mamas.

History and nature (Theoskepasti and Ag.Mamas)

An easy half-day walking tour. We start a downhill path to Potamia and the church of Panagia Theoskepasti. After 20-30 min. of hiking we reach the church of Theoskepasti (Farenomeni) dating back the 9th century. After that we reach Agios Mamas. From there we Go back to kato Potamia, where we get a snack and refreshment and board the coach to town.

Byzantine memories (Tragea-Moni)

You start in Halki village and from there you walk to the church of Agia Maria, Agios Georgios, Agios Dimitrios the early Byzantine triple aisled basilicas of Taxiarchis and more. Next we walk to Moni an Olive producing village wich is also well known for its weaving tradition. Leaving from there we reach Panagia Drosiani the oldest church of Cyclades dating betwenn the 7th and the 14th centuries. From there you walk to Kaloxylos village locaded in Tragea valleys. A very green area with olive, oak and plane trees.
